Wűnder habour – A bavarian celebration
Folkestone Harbour has established its reputation for free entertainment with Wűnder Harbour. This traditional Bavarian celebration in the Goods Yard pays homage to Munich’s Oktoberfest but with the Folkestone Harbour twist. Expect more steins of beer to wash down battered bratwurst from The Fish Shack, and pretzels galore from Coffee Folkes. There will be plenty of free live music, brass bands and lots more. Returning from September 20th 2025 for three weekends, Folkelife has a little about what to expect:
magic musical moments
The Bettesteiner Footstompers Oompah Band always brings a crowd, so get ready to join in every Saturday afternoon from 1pm. Bring your lederhosen, hats and plaits and be ready for a sing-along. The band play the crowd pleasers that you would expect such as Bayern, Des Samma Mia (Bavarians, that’s what we are, Bavarians and Bavarian beer…and so on), and Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit which brings everyone swaying with their steins in hand. Edelweiss is always popular and the crowd needed no encouragement to join in. There are also lesser-Bavarian-influenced songs, but certainly worth a singalong with a brass band; Oom Pa Pa and Sweet Caroline guarantee to have everyone stomping along. Prepare yourself for a massive conga around The Goods Yard to Is This The Way To Amarillo.
Wűnder Harbour continues with live music from other regular Folkestone Harbour favourites such as Thomas Abrahams and Dolly Doowop over the next 3 weekends.

Bavarian Feasts
The food traders of The Goods Yard love to live up to a challenge and have additions to their menus for the Wűnder Harbour season. There will be German Doner Kebabs from Greek Street, Bratwurst tacos with sauerkraut from Mexicorn, Battered Bratwurst from The Fish Shack and Coffee Folke will have their pretzels and chocolate for dipping.
Floc Beer will be stocking the best Festival Beers from Kent and UK breweries. Steins will be available with a deposit from Barney And The Pizza.
It’s safe to say, when Folkestone Harbour put on a party, it has a wonderful twist, fantastic food and great vibes. Wűnder Harbour gets bigger and more Bavarian each year.
